commentary of the program

A critical commentary of the program (workload, contents, approach, materials, etc.)

I think the contens of the program have been quite adequate and the materials provided really helpful when it comes to study this subject, the dossier containing several articles in order to expand the knowledge of the authors and plays we have seen in class was really good when it comes to study, making essays or commentaries, as we had it all there, in the dossier. If there was not something included it was handed in photocopies. The only complication that I came across was to find the plays that were not included on it, but if someone had a problem with this, the teacher made sure to leave photocopies of it at the photocopy shop so we all could access to the play.

Watching the film version of a play that we had to read was also really interesting, spotting the differences between both theatrical and cinematographical versions and working on them at both levels. But maybe it would have been also really good to make all the group of students go and see a play all together during a class session, and talk about it in the next class, that would have been something that could have been helpful and interesting to work on. To see the actors perfrorming and focusing on the theory learned but in a pragmantic way. But I understand that due to scheduling conflicts to see all the authors we needed in this course we could not have time to dedicate a class to that.

There were a few practical activities done in class that were also very nice to do and to see other students doing them, putting theory in practise, maybe there could have been done more of those but as I said before, we did not have time for them.

As a conclusion, I think all the materials provided and the workload were quite satisfactory and I personally did not miss anything in particular, except for the group outing activity to go and see a play that I already mentioned, but I think it has been a quite interesting subject that has widened my theatrical knowledge and motivated me to keep learning and made me more interested in drama.
